Strikes, delays, cancellations & Alitalia talks profit

Whilst pilots, attendants and ground crew threaten with strike about job cuts, after the merger with AirOne, Alitalia CEO Rocco Sabelli talks about a financial recovery after the major restructuring taking place. What Mr Sabelli has not talked about is any improvement in the key areas

So has the situation changed?

"a better financial future at our expense"

Before the 2008 sale, Alitalia was collapsing after years of posting a loss and mounting huge debt. However Alitalia's name is still synonymous with lost luggage, bad customer service, flight delays and union strikes.

So the recovery Mr Sabelli talks about, should be for the lost faith in his company's ability to respect it's customers, before he insults everyone by presenting their better financial future at our expense.

Bought, merged but Alitalia is still crap

According to a latest report from the Financial Times, Alitalia is still failing to amend it's corporate ways, despite the recent takeover deal and the merger with Air One.

One in three aircraft of the Italian airline's flights out of its principal hub at Rome's Fiumicino airport are delayed. So you cannot blame Alitalia for sticking to their principles:

"Always late in take-off, always late in arriving"
We promise to shut down this blog only on two special occassions:
  • If Alitalia ceases to trade
  • If I get a refund for my stolen bag and items
All the best
Your angry customers

Alitalia employee job satisfactions

Pull your finger out...
Push it back in...

Pull it out...
Back in...

Repeat for 100 times before you go about stealing people's luggage.

Alitalia gets rescued but stays the same

Alitalia has sold a 25% stake to Air France / KLM thus for the moment staying afloat. What has changed?
Not much. Alitalia maintains the worst record for losing luggage from all its major airports. To verify this please go to the missing luggage office in Heathrow and watch how there is always a queue in front of the Alitalia desk.

Problems might not go away until 2013 when the Franco Dutch alliance can bid for a controlling stake of the company. Even then we don't know if they will be able to root out the gigantic problems in corporate responsibility, customer services and surprise, surprise, baggage services.

A public apology and a free ticket for all the passengers who lost luggage with no refund, would be nice.

Alitalia is no longer about corporate irresponsibility. It is a national responsibility and Italians should pull their finger out.

The bad dog dies hard

More bad news about the mess called 'Alitalia'. Not only they are completely doomed, but they are also not able to control their workforce with added losses. A true mess.

http://news.google.co.uk/news?q=alitalia&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=wn

I have a feeling that they will be soon grounded but let us watch the next 3-6 months.

Bye-Bye Alitalia...

AirFrancce-KLM has taken the green light from the Italian government to place a bid for failing Alitalia and is now trying to approach the Italian carrier's unions.

AirFrance-KLM has already promised cash injections into the loss-making airline, but the real issue, for both the carrier's unions and Alitalia's Chairman, seems to be the Franco-Dutch airline's intention to get rid of the loss-making 'AZ Servizi' unit of Alitalia - but obviously for different reasons.

Promises from the Franco-Dutch airline went as a combined AirFrance-KLM-Alitalia group to be listed on the Milan stock exchange.

But just to remind us that there is no black and white in business, Mr Spinetta has also confirmed that if the merge of the two airlines completes successfully, there will be a need to eliminate approximately 1,700 jobs.

PS: That was the good news from me, guys! ;)

More hatemail? Surely a misunderstanding

The number of people blogging for (or rather against) Alitalia is growing. The latest fashionable anti-Alitalia craze has been growing with the help of http://alitalia.blog.co.uk/

The blog is dedicated into the common cause of bringing Alitalia to it's knees, making a same impossible and destroying the brand.

The airline's disrespectful and unethical business tactics have enraged passengers across the globe. Time for the Italian boys to go home and stop flying planes they can't manage.

Cheers!

Alitalia name origin

Didn't you always wonder where the Alitalia name is coming from?

ALITALIA - Always Late In Takeoff Always Late In Arrival

or even:

ALITALIA - Air Line In Tokyo And Luggage In Amsterdam

Does it all make sense now?

Do you like it rough?

This looks really safe but don't try it at home. Love Alitalia.

Alitalia customer relations in action

Would you believe that someone took their time to do this?
Indeed and we thank them.

PS. Unfortunately the PR machine behind Alitalia pulled this video down from YouTube. Good job guys but hey, we will keep posting until your company takes responsibility for its actions or shuts down.

Frustration and anger from passengers

Because you wake up one morning feeling tired and moody don't go and blame Alitalia for 20 hours delays, any lost luggage or anything else for that matter.
Be patient, show some understanding for our dear corporate trying to make their billions. Money doesn't come easy for them. They have to torture many people to collect it.
Never despair on the continuously busy customer services line. Don't you understand that such high demand is meant to cause delays when representatives are busy not helping you?

And most of all don't make death threats like Gianugo below, as you might get sued.

Our full sympathies extended to Mr Rabellino who as you will see is another happy Alitalia customer.

Alitalia is launching clothing range

Alitalia sources confirmed that the troubled airline is launching a new clothing range. Italy's national airline is in talks with high-street retailers and leading fashion houses about introducing its own clothing and footware range.
The new range is called 'Lost Fashion' and will include clothing and footware for men, women and children.
Unidentified sources claimed that the 'Lost, found and never to be returned' Alitalia luggage department is to supply the clothing range at low affordable prices.
And if you think that this is news, think again. Alitalia has been 'losing' people's luggage for years and recent financial trouble meant that the airline would be seeking new revenue streams.

You never know, you might even get to buy back the stuff you once owned so stay tuned for more info as it becomes available.

How dare you?

I have seen a lot of blog posts about Alitalia but I think that Johnny Sapphire from Boston has taken this too far.
His post Alitalia Sucks Monkeyballs does not only use inappropriate language about Italy's flagship carrier (as some morons call it) but goes on to justify why.

I have news for you Johnny. There is nothing original about your post, we 've heard it all before.

More happy Alitalia customers

Following the conspiracy theory trail aka Da Alitalia Code, I have found more people bitching about Alitalia.
Surely they are all in the game. They must be Ryanair execs or Easyjet board members. Anyway whatever walk of life they are coming from they sound like liars and evil people.
Someone commenting on the post dares to say:
"I'm stuck with Alitalia for my flight home, but that's the last time they will ever get my business."
Please stop this nonsense. Alitalia is a great airline, a little misunderstood perhaps?

The Alitalia conspiracy theory

Reading peoples blogs about Alitalia I cannot but think that there is a conspiracy against the airline. I think that all these people are connected, they are competitors, marketing executives of Lufthansa or simply evil doers that hate this company for no reason.
How can everyone have a bad experience?
Like losing their luggage, never hearing from Alitalia or ever getting an apology or a refund?
It must be a conspiracy.

Take for example Will Grady, an American United Methodist minister who lives in England. He uses not one not two, nor three but four posts on his blog to talk about his ordeal with Alitalia.
"Still no word from Alitalia. They haven't a clue where my luggage is. Alitalia could really not care less, and no, they still don't understand why it's important."
"Oh, I received correspondence from Alitalia, which I think is an organisation full of people whose names I won’t bother to learn so we will call them all Brian, and they are not going to cover my pocket pc or camera. They say it is in their limited liability form. So, those bunch of punks should work harder to find my luggage."

Good luck Will and I hope that God is listening.

Alitalia's black hat SEO techniques

It seems that Alitalia does not stop in bad customer services when it goes about its unethical business. It also employs a series of illegal practices and tactics when doing marketing.
The company has been sued for misleading advertising and according to Iain Davidson's blog it also spams the web with the help of search marketing agency BigMouthMedia. Iain points out how Alitalia is trying to promote its website using unethical techniques against the Google guidelines.

Very interesting but no surprise really.

Alitalia customer services

Now I know that this is an oxymoron and reading this bloggers tale confirms my worst fears. Alitalia does not do customer services.

Another happy customer

This guy is obviously biased. He named his post "Don't fly Alitalia". Don't follow his advice, try it for yourself.
Looking forward to hearing from you.

You are not alone Leilouta

I am not alone either. Check out what Leilouta has to say about her experience with Alitalia. I really wish that you get your money back. I know I never did.

A taste for Alitalia

Alitalia Airlines has a documented history for lack of respect for its customers.
Flight delays, lost luggage, unprofessional staff attitude, bullying tactics and illegal advertising practices.

But how did the proud national airline of Italy come to this?
Inreased competition, bad management?
Who knows and who cares? (although its probably more of the second)

And how do you clean up so much corruption, bad customer sentiment, staff training for some real values instead of the current status quo of lies, deceit and compliance to dirty business ethics (or lack of any ethics at all).

This is Alitalia ladies and gentleman. And this is why it sucks.
